Jon Patrick's Jet-Powered Scooter

When Jon Patrick's wife said she wanted her scooter to go faster than 40mph, I doubt she had this in mind.  I'd love to ride this scooter but I'd have to question its stability at higher speeds.  At least Jon has a lot of experience with jet engines, since he was the mastermind behind the jet-propelled VW Beetle.

From OhGizmo: Engines are 50 lbm each so weight is an issue. Will probably use air-start with a carbon fiber tank of compressed air. That saves weight since batteries will then not be needed.
Looks cool from the top. Will want to make aluminum housings to go over the engines just like on a DC-9. ”
