Synopsis : (Taken From the ABC Website) Oh Grow Up is an ensemble comedy about finding family where you expect it the least and when you need it the most. Hunter
is charming, good looking and a real Casanova. He owns a successful contracting business. Though he cares about his friends, he has never had to spend a day putting anyone
else's feelings above his own.
But all of that is about to change. Norris is Hunter's roommate and friend from college. A struggling artist with a dry wit, Norris disdains and envies the way Hunter
dances through life. Ford has recently moved in with them after separating from his wife, Suzanne. Their "minor communications problems" turned out to be bigger than
she thought when Ford announced in couples therapy that he was gay. The two still love each other and want to stay friends. Suzanne turns out to be welcome female support
for Hunter once he meets . . . Chloe. Chloe is Hunter's eighteen-year-old daughter, who has arrived to meet her father for the first time. Life will never be the same for this
ensemble of friends after Chloe joins the group.
Review : At first I wasn't even going to review this show but I had the TV on in the background with Oh Grow Up on and actually found myself laughing out loud at some of
the jokes. There's something about the premise of the show that just shouts "sitcom that will last 3 episodes" but I think this show is worth watching. The humor is
decidedly low-brow but in a good way. The writing is what elevates this show above the average sitcom. O.k., so they use convential sitcom plot devices but there is one
exception in the relationship between Hunter and Chloe. Hunter tries to act like a father but he has no leverage since he just met his daughter and compared to his own
life, his rules are filled with double standards. Fortunately, Chloe has more of a brain than he does. This show is aimed at older teens and younger adults.
