What Was America Thinking?
The show opened with the usual introductions then a performance of "Let Freedom Ring" with all the singers plus guest, Barry Manilow.
Then Ryan divided the contestants into two groups
Group A: Fantasia Barrino, Jennifer Hudson, La Toya London
Group B: Diana DeGarmo, Jasmine Trias, John Stevens, George Huff
The stunner was that Group A was the bottom 3! Seriously, this stunned everyone including myself. This sucked.
The judges weighed in lecturing that this is not a popularity contest.
They were surprised and said that the audience should vote for a winner we can all be proud of. Paula guessed that Jon Peter Lewis votes might have now gone to John Stevens.
La Toya was announced as being "safe" this week.
Jennifer Hudson was then announced as having the lowest amount of votes.
America screwed up on this one. Jennifer was awesome. She was sweet, funny and had a bit of fun attitude. This was the most embarrassing moment since Tamyra Gray was voted off before Justin Guarini in the first season.
Ryan closed the show by reiterating that America has to vote for the talent. I can't believe that John Stevens is still there.
