The Best Christmas Special Ever
There's no doubt that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is the best Christmas special ever. Even eclipsing The Charlie Brown Christmas special. Feel the
rage as Rudolph is shunned by his friend Fireball, Comet and even that fat (thin at the time) bastard Santa. Then the love story between the lovely Clarice and
our hero Rudolph. Of course since women are inherently evil, this is more fictional than the existence of a talking, flying reindeer. But, besides that, it's an
epic story on par with Braveheart. Rudolph really needed to shove a 9 point antler into Santa's ass when Santa comes groveling back to him but what the
hell, I didn't write this. If I had written this, Rudolph would've led Santa and the other Reindeer into a fog bank, unhooked himself and let them slam into the
side of a mountain. Ignore the homo-erotic overtones with Hermey & Yukon Cornelius and just enjoy this fun-for-the-whole family show. The new DVD
release has some special features like the original (edited) ending not seen in a long time, an interview with Arthur Rankin (of Rankin & Bass) and the original
TV promo. Be careful NOT to go for the newer crap-ass sequel Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer & The Island of Misfit Toys. It's terrible.
If you're as big of a fan as I am, there's a new book about the making of the show! It has pictures of everything from the animators, sets and actors along
with stories about the making of this classic.
