Is the O.C. Any Good? YES!

I didn't want to like this show. I mean, they they put the word "The" in front of O.C. (short for Orange County). All the locations are local to me so that's
a nice touch. They did a segment right in my neighborhood which I wish I was there for. But back to the show... It's a typical fish out of water story
with a kid Ryan from the wrong side of the tracks (Chino, CA) being taken in by a rich couple. Of course Ryan befriends their slightly nerdy son Seth and
then their neighbor's daughter Marissa. We all have seen this type of show before but for some reason all the characters are likable. Even Marissa's
thug boyfriend turns out to have a conscience. I like the characters and found myself caring about what happened to them in the first episode (very rare).
They even put a lot of my favorite music in it, from Jeff Buckley to Ben Harper. They also made Phantom Planet's great song California the theme
song. Is this Masterpiece Theatre? No. But it is a great one hour diversion from real life. Click here to visit Fox's official O.C. Website.
